Pull Up Star

A smart pull-up bar that counts your pull-ups and turns them into a competition. I designed the visual identity of the whole brand, the app, the website and print, to help Pull Up Star make its way into schools.

Pull-ups as a competition, not a chore.
Martin Burda came up with the idea of bringing a smart pull-up bar that counts pull-ups by itself into schools. The guys at Czech IT Academy took care of the hardware and the app, and it was up to me to give the whole product a face. A pull-up bar with the slogan “Compete and become a star” needed a brand that would grab kids at school.
From a logo to a whole app.
I started out with Filip Kovalský, and our colleague and friend Niki helped us with the logo. Then came the biggest part: figuring out how the whole app would work and what it would look like. The website followed, and finally print, so a single logo grew into a complete brand.

Logo
The foundation of the brand, created with Filip and Niki.
-
App
How the app works and looks, from the first pull-up to the results.
-
Website
A page that introduces the bar and invites you to compete.
-
Print
Materials that take the brand beyond the screen.
One star, the same everywhere.
The whole brand is built on a simple challenge that rings out from both the website and the app:
“How many pull-ups can you do?”
A bold red-orange, the star and a competitive tone hold the app, the website and the print together. The bar counts, the app shows the results and kids have a reason to try one more pull-up.
